DOCUMENTARIES

"Global Links: Education For All - The Uganda Experience" and "Global Lessons: Education Reform in Uganda"
(1998):
"Education For All: The Uganda Experience" (1998), written and directed by Cecilia Domeyko, shot by Ralf Oberti, and edited by Dr. Jack Jorgens for The World Bank and USAID. Shot in Kampala and rural locations in Uganda. It follows a tutor who travels from school to school, giving advice and educational materials to teachers in remote Uganda. A recurring theme in this award-winning program, which aired in 92 countries around the world, was the devastating impact of AIDS on Ugandan society, including a heart-wrenching portrait of three children who lost their parents to AIDS who took turns working to put each other through school. Accent's navigation through the complex political climate in Uganda and the complicated structures of development organizations which sponsored the program, is a testimony to our research abilities, diplomacy, and persistence in obtaining the material needed for a successful program.
